How to Get Disney+ in Hong Kong this November
Since Disney+ launched in the U.S. in 2019, numerous students have asked us how they can access the streaming service in Hong Kong.
With content from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, it’s no surprise students are eagerly waiting Disney+’s arrival. Now, we finally have an answer for interested students: Disney+ is arriving in Hong Kong on November 16th!
The service will simultaneously launch in Taiwan and South Korea that day, after a gradual roll out throughout the rest of Asia.
Worldwide, Disney+ has over 116 million subscribers, while competitors Netflix and Amazon Prime both have over 200 million subscribers each.
Disney+ has the advantage of being home to many students and families’ favorite titles, including the recent Raya and the Last Dragon, Jungle Cruise, and WandaVision, the first TV show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The fourth of these, Hawkeye, will be released after Disney+ lands in Hong Kong.
On top of the expected Disney brand titles, Hong Kong viewers will gain access to an additional channel they may already be familiar with: Star. Under the Star brand, titles that are more mature (such as Grey’s Anatomy, Die Hard, and The Walking Dead) will be available.
Speaking at the launch press conference in Hong Kong, Kerwin Lo from the Walt Disney company hinted at what this means for filmmakers in the region: “We certainly do have very wide-ranging plans to work with Asian filmmakers, storytellers, creative types across different regions and markets.”
Subscription costs $73 HKD per month or $738 HKD per year. To be first to gain access to the service, simply click here and fill out your details.
