Film against the clock.

Challenge your students to create some of their best work over 2 days focused on filmmaking.

Exclusive to IB DP Film students, Babel 48 is an annual 48-hour film competition open to international schools in Asia.

How it Works

Film teachers can run Babel 48 for their students over 2 consecutive weekdays or a weekend in January. Student teams create short films in their respective cities, based on prompts unveiled at the start of the 48 hours.

Nominated films from each school will be screened at the Babel Film Awards in Hong Kong in March, where winners of the competition will be announced. All films completed can be used in students’ IB Film Portfolios.
