About

Are you an aspiring filmmaker in high school? It can be hard to find opportunities to gain professional experience in film production. Without this experience, you miss out on an important way to develop filmmaking skills, and may feel unprepared to pursue more advanced projects in the future.

Through Short Film Incubation, students aged 14-18 will get to create a short film under guidance from professional filmmakers. Over 3 terms in a school year, you will learn skills rarely addressed in student projects, and gain experience by:

  • Writing a strong narrative short film screenplay

  • Running a professional production (including casting, directing and using equipment)

  • Editing, marketing and submitting a film to festivals

Details

Short Film Incubation takes place during the school year, and involves 3 terms that cover each stage of the film production process in depth: Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production.

During each term, students will take on different creative roles for an annual short film project (7-12 minutes in length) by working with teachers who have graduated from top US film schools, and have screened their work worldwide.

Classes take place on Saturdays from 2:00pm-3:30pm, with additional hours each week available for students to workshop their project at our studio, including activities such as casting, rehearsals and filming.

Tuition: HK $7,980 per term
Dates: Saturdays from September to December 2024
