Student Work Exhibited at K11 MUSEA for Kids4Kids Event: “Hong Kong Buffet” by Max Fung
This past summer, Babel Film Workshop student Max Fung made a series of short films that were exhibited at K11 MUSEA as part of a Kids4Kids event promoting creative writing in Hong Kong youth. The films were made through our Short Film Incubation: Summer Lab camp and aim to capture the city’s diverse landscapes with the use of various film craft.
Max, a senior at Canadian International School of Hong Kong, has had experience in stage and screen acting, but these films marked his first time taking on crew positions for film, including directing, cinematography, and editing. His short films were all filmed on location, and portray the experience of being in five distinct spaces in Hong Kong: in nature, a street, by the water, a park, and on transportation.
Featured as part of non-profit organization Kids4Kids’s My Story Creation exhibition at the cultural-retail mall K11 MUSEA, Max’s films were also made to inspire children to exercise their imaginations and creativity to write short stories in response to visual and audio media. This program is sponsored by the HKSAR Education Bureau, and addresses the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG): No Poverty; Quality Education; and Partnerships for the Goals.
Thanks to Kids4Kids for supporting the creation of Max’s films, and congratulations to Max for exhibiting his work at the My Story Creation exhibit at K11 MUSEA!
