Babel Film Workshop students are no strangers to Pixar movies. In fact, the highly successful computer animation company is perhaps responsible for many young children’s love for movies in the first place.

This summer, to celebrate Pixar’s 35th anniversary, an exhibition featuring characters from 12 Pixar movies (including Toy Story, Finding Dory, and Soul) has been set up in the Harbour City shopping centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.

From Jun 30th to Aug 15th, you’ll also find Pixar’s iconic Ball and Lamp installation, which is the same size as that found at Pixar’s headquarters in California, displayed in the open. There are certainly enough photo spots with recognizable characters to make you feel like you’ve gone to Disneyland.

Our students may also be interested in viewing selected Pixar short films (which have often been featured in our classes) at screening spaces at the mall. Admittance is free, though registration is required.

Other than exhibits and short films, Harbour City has also organized various interactive experiences with redeemable souvenirs, the details of which you can find here.

For fans of Pixar stuck in Hong Kong this summer, this may be a worthwhile animation-themed outing to add o your agenda!
