Film Stylo 2024: Shortlist

Babel Film Workshop is thrilled to announce the 23 shortlisted filmmakers for this year’s Film Stylo! The theme for this year’s competition is “The Human Touch”. Fewer than half of submitted films from schools around Hong Kong were selected.

Shortlisted films were judged based on three criteria: personal voice, treatment of theme and creative and technical execution. Films were also considered based on their adherence to Film Stylo rules and filmmaking format.

Represented schools in the shortlist include King George V School, Canadian International School of Hong Kong, Island School and French International School. King George V School leads in the number of shortlisted films.

Film Stylo is a filmmaking and mental wellness initiative launched by Babel Film Workshop to encourage teenagers’ self-expression through film. Shortlisted films from this year will be premiered at our screening on May 25th, during which the Top 5 Awards will be announced.

Shortlisted student films will be screened at our Film Stylo event, followed by the Top 5 Awards announcement. Each shortlisted filmmaker is invited to attend with a plus one. Your film’s screening time will be sent to you after your RSVP.
